St Bernard Trail
My story begins with Arya, our beloved German Shepherd. When Arya first came home, it quickly became clear that she was an anxious dog who needed patience, understanding and very specific care.
At the time, I was working as a sommelier and my partner’s schedule was often irregular. We needed reliable support for Arya around changing work patterns, but finding someone who truly understood her needs — and could offer the flexibility and consistency she required — proved incredibly difficult. It became clear that not all dogs, or owners, fit into a one-size-fits-all approach.
To give Arya the care and routine she deserved, we made significant changes and sacrifices in our lives. Ultimately, this led me to step away from my career as a sommelier and dedicate myself fully to working with dogs.
Today, my mission is to provide a professional, thoughtful service that is tailored to each individual dog and designed to support the realities of modern life — whether that means flexible scheduling for shift workers, calmer one-to-one support, or carefully managed small group trail walks.
While I have completed formal canine courses, I firmly believe education in this field is ongoing; every dog teaches you something new.
The name St Bernard Trail holds special meaning for me. Saint Bernards were the first dogs I ever truly fell in love with, and they've stayed close to my heart ever since. In a subtle way, the name also nods to my sommelier past, blending where I’ve come from with what I’m passionate about today…
